Older People Update

I keep forgetting to update you all about the adults in our little family too!
Stephen is still plugging away, working as a computer programmer at Classmates.com located right near Lake Union (gorgeous!) We are so lucky that he often finds at least one day a week where he can work from home.
As you have seen from previous posts, he is still musically active, although we both decided that each of us would only perform with one group this year, so Steve is continuing with a rock band called Seeing Blind. They just released a CD (yep, Steve plays on it). Here is their website: http://www.seeingblindband.com/

I am backing away from the CRAZY world of public education for this school year, my reasoning: I know I couldn't do both well, being a mom and a full-time music teacher would be too much for my sanity!
I was so lucky to get a job with Northwest Girl Choir, I teach a training choir of 4-6th grade girls two nights a week. It works out great- I still get to teach kids but truly part-time. Even better, this choir organization has 3 staff members who do all of the administrative work (i.e. music filing, newsletters, fundraising, tour organization, parent communication etc...) I just feel like a QUEEN and the kids are such a joy! Here is their website: http://www.northwestgirlchoir.org

I will also be singing with Seattle Pro Musica this year and acting as alto section leader. I do musicianship classes for them and lead sectionals. We have some awesome concerts coming up so check out the website if you're interested! We also have really cool CDs (yep I am on all of the CDs that were made since 2004- Music of the Spirit is my favorite) http://www.seattlepromusica.org
