We have also decided on a name:
Jack Doyle Morrissey- the Doyle is obvious, we are honoring my dad who's first name is Doyle, plus I figured we might as well give the kids ammunition for teasing right off the bat. We also wanted our son to have a short first name since our last name is so long. Last, we thought it flowed well, mono, duo then tri syllabic.
Steve and I hit the ground running during our winter break. Mom and Dad came over to help strip off the old wallpaper- thank you Justin- the Downy fabric softener really DID take it off without any toxic fumes!
Then we got to painting- the color is a denimish blue which was inspired by the crib bumper which we found at Pottery Barn for way cheap as it was the last of its kind. We found the dresser at Costco Home- we love it, Jack should be able to use it for most of his childhood!
My sister Jennifer also gave us a truck-load (literally) of her old baby stuff, so we got the crib you see here, a high chair, a carseat, a fancy stroller, a bathtub, clothes and she is lending us her fancy rocking chair. Thank you Wold family!
My mom has been extra busy! The crib bumper was such a steal for a good reason, we found out that there were no matching quilts anywhere, not even on ebay so mom offered to make one. I found this matching pillow sham on e bay, mom cut it up and put it as a center-piece on the quilt. Then she decided to make another quilt- you can see this draped over the rail and then mom and I spent an afternoon sewing the letters for Jack's name which you see hanging on the wall.
The little red chair on top of the dresser has been used by all of Janet & Doyle's grandbabies and I think it looks cute as a decorative piece!
