Seahawk Baby

We are having a great time with baby Jack! Here is a picture of him wearing a Seahawk outift that Mike (KJH band director) gave him. Our little guy is really alert during his awake time, we attribute his contented nature to Emily's advice about Feed/Wake/Sleep time order which is also out of the Babywise book. Jack is well rested (he is getting 6 hours of sleep at night-yahoo!) and well fed, so I think he gets great quality awake time. We are also relieved to have an order to things as parents so we know generally what to expect in terms of his needs and we are able to have some time to do non-baby things, like brush the dog! Speaking of the dog, Bear has been wonderful through this big change, he follows us around (a lot of up and down the stairs) then plops down at my feet, waiting patiently for his walk and food. When the baby is crying, he goes back and forth between the bedrooms and gives us a look like- hey, hurry up and get that kid. We can't tell if he is just annoyed with the crying or if he really is concerned about the baby (maybe a little of both).
Jack started really smiling (not by accident or gas) when he was looking at my dear friend, Darlene Olson at Pastor Moland's 25th Anniversary Reception on May 31. I think he was especially enamored with her pure white hair- but aren't we all!
Mommy was lucky enough to get the first laugh from Jack while I was flirting with him last week. We are still trying to capture this on video- its really cute, kind of a low pitched laugh.

My sister Jennifer thinks she FINALLY got her revenge through a little doll named Percival. When her daughter Ashley got a cute little doll from her Auntie Lou, Ashley and I had a fun time finding a name for the doll- I helped her settle on the name Charlemagne. My sister DESPISED the name and I think she was a bit creeped out to hear a 2 year old crying out "Charlemagne!!!! Where's my Charlemagne!!!" So yesterday, Jennifer and Ashley gave Jack a doll that they named Percival, hoping to exact their revenge- but really I don't mind the name- so hah!!!
