Fall Tidings

Love, love, love our little man's voice. He sings, random little songs of his own making and a few other kid songs too. He learned "wo wo wo wo wo" aka "Row, Row, Row your boat" from G'ma and G'pa. I love that he breaks out into laughter right after he sings it.
Noelle and Ashley also taught him a Creole song, "Salangadou" which sounds like "uh uh uh doooooooooo, uh uh uh doooooooooo"
He also anticipates the B section of the song and gets all energetic, mimicking the accented articulations, and then breaks out into laughter.
Stephen and I sat down and counted up his vocabulary words thus far- over 30! Pretty good for a 16 month old.
My favorite Jack words are:
"sheeyooo" aka shoe
"styool" aka stool
"Gen!" aka again
Upon arriving at G'pas house, I love how Jack goes running straight for G'pa who picks him up, then Jack points to the orchard and says "A--pul" over and over. G'pa lets him pick one and carry it around the tour of the yard every time we come.
I think he wanted to be sprayed with water- yeah that's not happening anymore-too cold!
Jack also goes on mini-tirades, babbling with such conviction and voracity at nothing in particular.
He loves to point at everything...the food on his tray, the pictures in books, the logo on my shirt. He's a little vocab sponge.
Jack enjoys emptying the dishwasher and so far he is really great at handing me everything carefully. He is very satisfied when he gets to shut the dishwasher door at the end of our task. Hope this love of helping continues!
