Jack's 2 year old stats (2 months late!)
Jack is 34.6 lbs which is the 97% and he is 35 and 3/4 inches tall which is the 81%.
I know! Big kid, everyone thinks that he is 4 years old.
He still catches us totally by surprise with his communications skills and understanding. Here are few examples:
1) While touching the hydrangea buds which are still green, Jack says, "Where is the rest of the broccoli?" I look at him like he is crazy, then realize that yes, they look just like broccoli.
2) While on a family walk, Jack points to a house and says, " That looks like the grotto Mommy!" Yes, Jack the house with the river rock stuccoed all around the garage looks like the grotto.
3) I am breastfeeding Aaron who is getting fussy and Jack says, "Mommy, Aaron needs the bottle." Yep, it was time to supplement with formula.
Jack is still being a great helper and kind older brother.
"I want to talk for Aaron." is said repeatedly throughout the day, which means that he wants to talk to his brother and rub his nose and cheeks on his face.
Jack holds the door open for Mommy and Aaron for at least one minute (amazing patience for a 2 year old!) while I get Aaron out of the car and gather the diaper bag etc...
Not everything is perfect of course, Jack is still susceptible to his share of temper tantrums (due in part to mommy's divided attention) and he continues to mock cry like Aaron in the car. Yeah double the crying is not so good. We are also working on voice volume with him. He understands how to talk quietly, he just needs many reminders.
We are back on the potty training course...I just decided that we were going to be business like about it. I don't hype it up like its a big deal, we just sit on the potty at convenient times, like before nap, after nap, after diaper changes etc....and 95% of the time he goes pee! He has only pooped on the potty once in the past week so we are still taking things at a slow pace.
